Safety of students and staff is the top priority
Do not delay action in an emergency
When in doubt, act first and report immediately after

If a student or staff member is injured or unwell:
Stop class immediately if needed
Ensure the area is safe
Do not leave the injured person alone
Call 911 if situation is serious or life-threatening
Notify management as soon as possible
Document the incident after the situation is under control
If fire alarm sounds or fire is suspected:
Stop all activities immediately
Exit the building using the nearest safe exit
Do NOT stop to collect belongings
Assist students calmly and quickly
Move to designated safe meeting area outside (if applicable)
Call 911 if not already confirmed by alarm system
Do not re-enter the building until cleared by authorities
During shaking:
Drop, Cover, and Hold On
Stay away from mirrors, windows, and heavy equipment
Do not run outside during shaking
After shaking stops:
Check for injuries
Evacuate building if safe to do so
Follow fire exit routes if needed
Await further instructions before re-entering
If there is a threat inside or outside the studio:
Lock studio doors immediately if possible
Move students to a secure, hidden area
Keep quiet and remain out of sight
Do not open doors until given clear confirmation
Call 911 if safe to do so
Notify management when possible
If power is lost:
Remain calm and keep students in place
Check if outage is building-wide or isolated
Use available lighting (phones, emergency lighting if applicable)
Do not continue technical classes until systems are safe
Notify management immediately
Decide whether to continue or cancel classes based on conditions
All incidents must be reported, including:
Injuries (minor or major)
Security concerns
Equipment-related accidents
Any situation requiring emergency response
After immediate safety is handled:
Inform Cierra
Document what happened clearly and factually on provided incident form that can be found in the office
Include time, location, and people involved
First aid kit location: (add specific location here)
Only trained staff should administer advanced first aid
Basic care (cleaning, bandaging, comfort) may be provided if appropriate
Always escalate serious injuries immediately
Never leave an injured or distressed student alone
Never assume someone else has called for help
Safety decisions take priority over schedules and classes
When uncertain, escalate immediately
